On 15 February 2001, there was a theoretical seminar, Practical intention of philosophy, that aim was to present theoretical initiatives of the members and doctoral students at the Department of Ethics and Applied Ethics, as well as initiatives of our guests from Slovakia and Poland, in the area of practical philosophy and ethics.

On 19 April 2002, in cooperation with the Department of Ethics and Applied Ethics, Faculty of Humanities, Matej Bel University and European Informational Centre by Matej Bel University was organized international scientific workshop, Ethics and informational society. Its aim was identification and interpretation of moral dilemmas and problems that are connected with reform of the Civil Service in Slovakia, with an ambition to integrate Slovakia to the European structure and with adaptation to the conditions of the informational society.

From 24 February to 2 March 2002, were organized lectures by visiting professor at the Department of Ethics and Applied Ethics FHV UMB prof. Dr. Gerhard Banse. These lectures were organized for 3rd year students of philosophy in specialization in ethics. The main topic of these lectures was Applied ethics and internet.

From 19 April to 20 April 2002 were organized lecture visits: chancellor of WSZiNS Tychy (Poland) prof. Dr. hab. Mark S. Szczepañskiego, vice- chancellor prof. Dr. hab. GraŸyny Rzeszotarskej and prof. Dr. hab. Anderzej Kiepas. The main topics of the lectures were social management, euro management and ethics of the technique.

On 24 April 2002 at 8.30 was ceremonial opening of the Student Scientific Activity SVA in the room No. 313. The Department of Ethics and Applied Ethics organized Student Scientific Activity in the branch of philosophy - specialization in ethics.

On 15 May 2002 at 8.30 had Prof. PhDr. Pavel Fobel, CSc., doc. PhDr. Daniela Fobelova, CSc., and Mgr. Monika Bekoova, business meeting with prof. Dr. Gerhard Zech and prof. Dr. Otto Neumaier at Forschungsinstitut fur angenwandte Ethik in Salzburg (Austria). The aim of this meeting was to establish scientific international cooperation in the field of applied ethics.
